Structured Data Tools

Four free tools that cover the whole lifecycle: build → validate → test → monitor. All external links open on the official sites.

Test

Google Rich Results Test

The go-to pre-flight check. Paste code or a live URL and Google tells you exactly which rich result features your markup is eligible for — and every error blocking it.

Use it to

  • Confirm the type is detected ("Local business", "Product"…)
  • See errors before deploying
  • Test the live URL after publishing
  • Check rendered HTML when JS might strip the script

Validate

Schema.org Validator

The vocabulary authority. Where Google's test focuses on rich-result eligibility, this one confirms your JSON-LD is technically valid Schema.org — property names, types, enumerations.

Use it to

  • Catch JSON syntax errors (commas, braces, quotes)
  • Confirm property names exist in Schema.org
  • Review warnings that don't block rich results
  • Debug microdata/RDFa conversions too

Build

Structured Data Markup Helper

Start from a live page instead of a blank template: highlight the business name, address, hours on screen and the tool generates the markup for you. Ideal for first-timers.

Use it to

  • Learn which elements map to which properties
  • Generate JSON-LD by tagging visible content
  • Compare your manual markup against output

Monitor

Search Console URL Inspection

The only tool that shows what Google actually crawled. After publishing, inspect the URL and compare Google's fetched HTML with your own to detect stripped, duplicated or blocked markup.

Use it to

  • Confirm Google sees the JSON-LD in fetched HTML
  • Request indexing after schema changes
  • Spot "Duplicate field" or manual-action issues
  • Track page status (indexed, crawled – not indexed)

Open the tool

search.google.com/search-console ↗

Requires a free account and site verification (HTML tag, DNS or analytics).

Build

SchemaHub JSON-LD Generator

Skip the template-editing: our own form-based generator builds valid JSON-LD as you type — pick a type, fill plain fields, copy the result.

Use it to

  • Generate any of 8 schema types from a form
  • See live output with required-field warnings
  • Load example data, then swap in your own
  • Copy or download the finished snippet

Open the generator

No account, nothing leaves your browser.

Recommended order: Schema Generator or Markup Helper (build) → Schema.org Validator (syntax) → Rich Results Test (eligibility) → publish → URL Inspection (confirm Google saw it). Need the install steps? Read Guide 01: How to Add JSON-LD.
